Estonian Business Register glossary
- EMTAK — Estonian classification of economic activities
A five-digit code describing a company's primary activity. Based on the EU's NACE classification.
- Tax debt — what it means and when it is disclosed
Unpaid debt owed to the Estonian Tax and Customs Board. The public list of debtors starts at €100.
- Beneficial owner
The natural person on whose behalf the company ultimately operates. In Estonia, beneficial owners must be registered with the Business Register.
- Registry code
An eight-digit number assigned to every company and association by the Estonian Business Register.
- Board member
A person who manages the company day-to-day and represents it externally. Membership is on the public Business Register.
- Shareholder
A person or company that owns equity in another company — units in an OÜ or shares in an AS.
